Sonar, Cubase, Logic, Tracktion, SawStudio, etc. There are also many other multitrack audio programs with delay comp. Okay, from a quick google search, it looks like the newly released Audition 2 has delay comp.

Low latency is, however, very important if you want to use a midi controller and software sampler. I don't like amp simulators anyway, and prefer to just send in dry audio tracks and add processing later. affect what I'm sending in, in realtime, while recording. Now that I have a low-latency sound card, I can use Sonar's input monitoring and hear effects like amp simulators, compression, reverb, etc. (In windows, you just turn on the Line In channel in the playback section of the sound control panel. I would like to combine (merge down, whatever) all of these tracks into one long individual file that I can then edit. I have an Adobe Audition multi-track session made up of about 40 individual tracks. The trick is to turn off "realtime monitoring" in Sonar, and instead just monitor what you're sending in through your sound card. Hello - new to the forums here, so apologies in advance if I am asking something the wrong way. This is activated via the RDECaster Pro’s ‘Advanced’ settings. Worked fine in my host (Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio). Multitrack mode (called ‘multi-channel’ mode on the RDECaster) allows you to record not only the stereo mix of your podcast (as was previously the case with the RDECaster) but also each individual track, allowing you to mix and edit your podcast in post-production. For years I recorded with 120msec of latency, while playing back other tracks as a reference. Thanks SteveG Yes, all tracks have 'None' as input, and manually switching them to an input enables track recording. if you only have inputs assigned to the tracks you want to record on, then you can set a keyboard shortcut to the Toggle Arm for Record for All command, and it will arm all of the tracks that have valid input. If your multitrack s/w is up to the task, you can (in theory) record with any level of latency. Unfortunately there isnt a way to select multiple tracks to Record with one click Im afraid. I'm not sure that Audition has delay compensation. Thanks for the help and any tips with this software would be helpful. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with Audition and can tell me about the latency when you record in the multi-track display while playing back at the same time. I do production for a radio station and I don't have much experience with trying to record multi-tracking sessions. If I misunderstood your question, ignore the above.Radiodjeagle wrote on Fri, 31 March 2006 10:54

It limits your options in keeping a good mix separated. I (felt like I) was forced to put everything on one track to do accurate fades, which is not ideal, but workable. Don't know if this has been added to CC versions, but is badly needed.Īfter reading much about dialog editing in my current project, mostly from people in the industry using ProTools, I was surprised to find I couldn't do it in Audition. I believe you may be looking for a feature in ProTools that let's you apply the same fade to two clips that overlap on different tracks. Good luck getting two clips on separate tracks to match doing it by hand. If you have the same (in-phase) material that you're fading, you'd typically want a 6 dB midpoint attenuation in the fade to avoid a rise in volume during the fade.

When you release the mouse button, the numbers return to 0 dB, so you can. The numbers indicate how new amplitude compares with existing amplitude. In the gain control that floats above the panel, drag the knob or numbers. You can only use the fade handles on each clip and try to get them to match within the overlap. In the Editor panel, select specific audio, or select nothing to adjust the entire file. In such cases, you want to crossfade one speaker into another with an identical fade, but I don't think that is possible in Audition (at least in CS6), unlike a crossfade between two clips on the same track. Nvenet, from your post, it sounds like you are trying to do typical dialog editing in the standard way, that is, each speaker on a different track, checkerboard style.
